Mr Islam qualified as a Solicitor of England and Wales in September 2009 and qualified as a Solicitor Advocate in October 2019.
Mr Abid Islam is a senior immigration practitioner with over 12 years of experience. He conducts almost leading work at all levels: The Supreme Court, The Court of Appeal, The Administrative Court and in the Upper Tribunal in statutory appeals and Judicial Reviews, Appeals in First Tier Tribunal and administrative reviews to the Home Office. He has very substantial immigration and asylum experience in his FTT, UT, High Court and appellate court practice.
He conducts the cases involving ‘unduly harsh’ exceptional circumstances, all point-based system cases, spouse visas, visits visas, asylum and humanitarian protection, cases involving children’s best interest in the Leave to remain, Leave to enter, discretionary leave, detention cases and deportation appeals.
His work has been, to date, predominantly privately funded cases. Mr Islam also does publicly funded immigration work at all levels. Mr Islam also practices in all aspects of Housing Law, Landlord and Tenant law. As a member of the civil team, Mr Islam conducts a comprehensive range of cases with particular emphasis on housing-related matters and public law aspects of housing law. In this regard, his practice comprises all areas of housing law including possession claims, injunctions, anti-social behavior orders, housing disrepair, unlawful eviction, homelessness cases, Abid undertakes work against local authorities, housing associations, other public sector landlords, private landlords and has experience and expertise in representing the tenant.
Mr Islam’s family work includes Matrimonial and Family dealing with all aspects of relationship breakdown including Divorce, Children matters including Residence, Contact, Parental Responsibility, Care Proceedings/Disputes, and financial issues arising from breakdown.
Mr Islam has also worked voluntarily at the citizens’ advice bureau as an advisor and other charities.Mr Islam has a wide range of clients from the wealthy to those on a low income. Mr Islam was also working as Judicial Officer (Civil Judge & Judicial Magistrate) KPK, Pakistan.
Apart from English Mr Islam is fluent in Urdu and Punjabi and also knows Pushto as well. Mr Islam’s Hourly Rate is £255.00 per hour.
